IN yet another case of life imitating art, a Somerset fire crew was called to the M5 this morning for a rescue with a difference after A SWAN was seen wandering the carriageways.
In a scene reminiscent of the movie Hot Fuzz, which was filmed in Somerset, a fire crew from Weston super Mare was called to the motorway near junction 22 after reports the bird was 'swanning around'.
It was later found in some brambles on the roadside and taken to Secret World Wildlife Rescue by the crew.
"M5 incident with a difference," said an Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
"This lad was defying quarantine laws, swanning around the M5 before getting trapped in brambles. Now safely in the hands of the amazing Secret World Wildlife."
