DESPITE live music events across the glob grinding to a halt due to the coronavirus outbreak, one Somerset musician is still performing.

Concert pianist Jonathan Delbridge, who is a self-employed musician, has found his work hugely disrupted after gatherings were banned to prevent the spread of the disease.

While he can still carry out some teaching online, he has now taken to using the technology to help music lovers through this difficult time by performing live, online concerts.

On Friday, March 27, Jonathan performed at 30-minute concert from 11am which reached more than 600 people via his Facebook page - facebook.com/JonathanDelbridgemusic.

He performed a range of pieces, including requests which were submitted in advance.

Now, he intends to make the shows a weekly event, with the next one at 11am this Friday (April 3).

“It's a great way of still being able to provide live music at this time," he said.

"People can make themselves a cup of tea or coffee and sit down in the comfort of their own homes to watch a short weekly concert."
