A NUMBER of Year 6 Chard School pupils are celebrating after being awarded scholarships from a number of schools in the area.
The pupils underwent tests and examinations in January and were informed of the results in February.
Amelia Confrey has been awarded a music scholarship to Queen’s College, Taunton. Her brother James was awarded a sports scholarship, also to Queen’s College. Scarlett Eames enjoyed double success as she was awarded both an academic and sports scholarship, again to Queen's and a headmaster’s award to Blundell’s School. William Perry was successful in his tests at Sherborne Prep School and has been offered a senior all-rounder scholarship.
Headteacher, Mrs Hill, said "We are delighted that the talents of our pupils have been recognised by these prestigious schools. The children will be a great asset to their new school communities when they move on in Year 7 and we are extremely proud of them all."
