A POPULAR fish and chip shop in the heart of Bridgwater has been sold to new owners.

The Admiral Blake Fish Bar in St Mary's Street was established more than 57 years ago and was successfully operated by the previous vendor Rodney Ingram.

Kings Business, who brokered the deal, said Mr Ingram had reached the decision to retire, having achieved everything he wanted to achieve within

the popular fish and chip shop.

They decided it was time for a new operator to take control of the business, and once it was placed onto the market, the fish and chip shop subsequently generated a considerable amount of interest.

After receiving 15 viewings and four generous offers, the business was acquired by Tony Kesterton.

Tony Kesterton owns a series of other businesses and has previous experience within the café industry.

A spokesman for Kings Business said: "This historic chip shop made a significant impression on Tony.

"The location and the outstanding reputation of the business were influencing factors for his acquisition of the chip shop.

"Since taking control of the fish and chip shop, he wishes to continue the high standards that the business’ clientele is accustomed to, and he wishes to grow the business further."
