A FORMER Bridgwater magistrate has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Dr Peter Reed, who was also a former GP at the Taunton Road Medical Centre, was given an MBE for his services to the Administration of Justice and to the community in Bristol.

Dr Reed still works as a magistrate and is currently the chairman of the Avon and Somerset Bench.

Dr Reed also works as a volunteer for Resolve West, a mediation service which works to resolve conflicts within the community.

He and his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law were present at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, January 14, when The Duke of Cambridge conferred the honour on him.
