TWO vehicles were badly damaged in separate suspected arson attacks in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Firefighters put out both fires before handing over the investigation to police.
In the first incident, fire crews from Ilminster were called to reports of an abandoned vehicle ablaze in Isle Abbotts Road, Ilton, at 0.21am.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Unfortunately the vehicle was 100% damaged by the fire.
"The cause of the ignition is believed to be deliberate and has been left in the hands of the police."
In the second incident, a van was severely damaged in another suspected arson attack in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Firefighters called to reports of a vehicle on fire in Hamilton Road, Taunton, at 1.40am confirmed the van was well alight.
They promptly extinguished the blaze.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and has been handed over to Avon and Somerset Police."
