Rehearsals have been underway for the last three months for Bridgwater Pantomime Society’s 2020 production of “Jack and the Beanstalk” and once again it’s going to be a show not to be missed.

It is once again written, produced and directed by Keith and Margaret Robinson and Richard J. Porter, and will be the Society’s 63rd production.

It will be the seventh time the Society has performed this family favourite pantomime.

Jordan Hill will be playing the part of Jack, with Keith Robinson as his Mum, Dame Stoneybroke, and Kevin Cripwell as Simple Simon.

Kim Priddle will be playing Jill, daughter of Squire Skinflint who will be played by Ken Stone.

Broker’s Men, Paul Chilcott and Sam Pavey will be trying to get rent money of the Dame who has to sell her beloved Daisy the Cow (Zoe Pike and Bradley Cole).

Helping Jack will be Fanny the Fairy, played by Lindsey Stone.

She will assist him in defeating the dreaded Giant Blunderbore, John Hancock, and his henchman, the dreaded Barrington Black, played by Richard J. Porter.

Society choreographer Fiona Wheeler has been working on the dance routines for her troupes of junior and senior dancers., while Margaret Robinson has been teaching company singing for the junior and senior choruses.

A Society spokesman said: “ With more than 50 people on stage, it’s going to be a great show for all the family.”

The Grand Box Office re-opening for Jack and the Beanstalk will be taking place at Angel Place on Saturday, January 4 from 10am until 1pm.

The show will be taking place at the Town Hall, Bridgwater from January 24 until February 1.

Tickets cost £11 for adults, £8 for children, and family tickets for two adults and two children are £30 and will be available for the opening night and both Saturday evening performances.

There are also three matinee performances on both Saturdays and the Sunday, plus and early evening performance on Tuesday, January 28 which has become the ‘schools night’.
