THE Barrington Players brought the house down during their recent production of Out of Focus by Peter Gordon, on November 15 and 16.

The play revolved around the antics at a village hall where a series of over-bookings had been made. A mix of characters from the local community descend on the hall for, respectively, a Brownie troupe meeting, a badminton game, table tennis, auditions for the vicar’s wife’s Christmas pantomime and an illustrated talk on steam locomotives, each believing they have booked the hall for their particular activity.

Confusion reigned until everyone eventually united behind a common cause, the pantomime production.

Barrington Players Chairperson, Claire Hart, who played bossy Brown Owl ‘Helen Beaver’ in the play, said: “We wanted to resurrect the Barrington Players and remind people just what we can achieve.

"Our standards have always been exceptional; indeed, we have won awards for our panto and we are keen to keep this wonderfully talented and friendly group alive and growing for future performances. We are now looking forward to planning our next production.”
