SNOOKER lovers can enjoy an evening accompanied by the three of the sports biggest stars - Steve Davis, Dennis Taylor and John Virgo - in Yeovil next year.

The famous trio will be discussing the highs and lows of their careers with more than a few amusing yarns along the way. Steve, Dennis and John are still very active within the snooker world as players and pundits for TV and radio.

Steve Davis dominated snooker during the 1980s, reaching eight World Championship finals in nine years and winning six world titles. He held the world number one ranking for seven consecutive seasons and his encounter with Dennis Taylor in the 1985 World Championship final is widely regarded as the most famous match in snooker history.

Dennis Taylor is currently a snooker commentator with the BBC. During his professional career he won two world-ranking events. He is also well known for his sense of humour and his trademark oversized spectacles and was a regular on hit TV snooker game show Big Break.

John Virgo is known for his trick shots and comedic impressions of other players, to many snooker fans John is “Mr Snooker”. Turning professional in 1976, he quickly climbed the world-rankings, reaching the semi-finals of the UK Championships the following year.

The show features Davis and Taylor recreating their famous 1985 World Championship final, with fellow snooker legend John Virgo refereeing the much-anticipated rematch.

A record-breaking 18.5m TV viewers stayed up late into the night on April 28, 1985, to watch Dennis complete a determined comeback to win the match on the final ball of the final frame to overcome Davis, the world’s number one snooker player. There will also be a Q and A session with members of the audience.
