A CAST metal and furnace equipment manufacturer has admitted failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees at its premises in Crewkerne.

Representatives from Cronite Castings LTD based in Blacknell Lane, were in court at Yeovil when the matter was put before District Judge David Taylor.

The company was charged that on or before March 5 this year at Crewkerne, being an employer, failed to ensure, so far as was reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all their employees working with or around molten metal, including Alexsej Divickij.

Malcolm Galloway, defending, entered a guilty plea to the offence on the firm’s behalf.

He said that a basis of plea would be entered by the company when the sentencing was adjourned to take place on December 17 before District Judge Taylor at Taunton Magistrates Court.
