WEDMORE Real Ale Festival returns this weekend - at a new venue.

The 19th event runs from Friday 20 to Sunday 22nd of September, at a new venue for 2019 - Glebe Field, Manor Lane, Wedmore, BS28 4EQ, opposite the Wedmore Village Hall car park.

Organisers say the new, larger site will allow them to offer more than 100 different choices of ale, including the medal winners from this year’s Champion Beer of Britain, cider as well as craft ale for the first time.

"A range of food will be available throughout the weekend and on Friday night, Straytones will get our live music underway," said an event spokesperson.

"Live local music will continue from noon until 6pm on the Saturday, followed by the Mantawrays and then our headliners Zuma.

"Saturday night’s fancy dress theme is the 1980s, so you now have a reason to dig out your favourite 80’s look and with DJ Enhance playing some classic 80s hits once he live music comes to an end, you’ll have a jam packed night of dancing ahead of you."

The festival opens at 7pm on the Friday and 11am on Saturday and Sunday and continues until the bar closes at 11.30pm on both Friday and Saturday, before drawing to a close around 4pm on the Sunday.

Food will be available throughout the weekend.

After 6pm, admission to the festival will be £10 per person, which will include a 2019 festival pint cup to take away.
