A SERIES of lunchtime organ concerts will take place at Chard Methodist Church.

In 2018, the members of Chard Methodist Church decided whether they wanted to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the church on its present site.

The first idea to be put forward, by one of the members, was a series of lunchtime organ concerts.

The six concerts start on September 17, and run until October 22, which is the Tuesday nearest to the actual anniversary date of October 25th.

All the musicians live within a radius of thirty miles with the exception of the last one, Philip Scriven, who is a Chard boy of international standing.

The other organists are Peter Parshall. Dr. Francis Burroughes, Simon Clarkson, Dr. Ian heavisides, Peter Lea-Cox and Dr. Richard Godfrey.

All the concerts start at 12.30pm, and will last approximately forty-five minutes. They will be followed by light lunches is the Church Hall to the rear of the church.

The concerts and the lunches will be free, but generous donations are invited towards church funds.
