£1.8 billion (in NHS funding announced this month)

is welcome news for the NHS, albeit significantly less than the £6 billion that is required.

This money is a "one off" capital grant which will not be in future budgets.

Since 2016, the Government has committed £4.2 billion to enable Brexit, and a further £2.1 billion has now additionally been committed to ensure we leave at the end of October.

If we weren't trying to leave the EU, Mr Johnson could be giving the NHS the £6.3 billion that is needed.

It is clear that Brexit is misguided, expensive and distorting the use of taxpayers' money.

The much publicised benefits which featured in the referendum campaign were clearly hollow promises.
