GARDENER Michael Anthony was celebrating a bumper crop of cucumbers this week in 1999.
The green-fingered Hollies Close resident was still harvesting - despite a single plant in his garden yielding more than 100 cucumbers!
UCB Cellophane worker Michael said he fed the thirsty plant four gallons of water a day.
"It just seems to keep on producing more and more cucumbers - I've never seen anything like it," he added.
"We've got so many cucumbers that we don't know what to do with them - and now we're giving them away to anyone who happens to be passing the house."
Michael said he did have a secret growing ingredient - but refused to share it with Mercury readers.
The plant was the Femspot variety.
