BURNHAM-on-Sea Coastguard and BARB Search and Rescue will be among the groups attending an Emergency Services Day at Brean Leisure Park.

The event on July 20 is open to everyone and will celebrate the work of local emergency services, including the RNLI, Avon & Somerset Constabulary, Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance, St John’s Ambulance and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

The emergency services day will be held in the front car park of the leisure park from 10am to 4pm.

Visitors will have the chance to see demonstrations, try out some the equipment used by rescue teams and learn about water and coastal safety.

Sarah House, director, said: "We support our local rescue services and feel it is important to hold events like this for both local people and the vast number of visitors we get in this area. #

"It is a fun and friendly way to find out about water safety."
