THE sound of native American drums were heard in Somerset in 1989 during a special farewell party.
Pupils at the village infants' school were staging a special leaving party for teacher Jo Astle.
Jo, who served at the school for 23 years, was set to leave and pursue a new life in Turkey.
More than 200 colleagues, pupils and friends gathered for the celebration, which included a special barbecue and a performance based on a school production of the native American musical, Little Moose.
All 38 pupils were involved and it made for a colourful way to say farewell after 23 happy years for Mrs Astle.
