WORKS to make improvements to a popular Burnham-on-Sea venue have been completed.

Bosses at The Ritz Social Club have invested £10,000 to make improvements to the club’s main function suite.

Workers have been at the club in Victoria Street this week installing a new sound proofed ceiling, a new entertainment system and two 65 inch TV’s in a bid to modernise the venue.

Speaking about the refurbishment, Paul Hale, manager of The Ritz Social Club, said: “We have refurbished our main function suite because we want to modernise our facilities and bring them up to date.

“We have had a new soundproof ceiling put in so people upstairs will not be disrupted in the cinema if we have entertainment on and new LED light panels have been put in.

“We have also had two 65 inch TV’s and a new state of the art ‘Jigsaw’ entertainment system and a new system which will improve the quality of music and videos we show here and it will enable us to hold more interactive events such as bingo and quiz nights.”

Paul said there are plans to make more improvements to the venue later this year and business is growing at the club.

“We want to bring the Ritz into the 21st century and modernise it for our patrons, “ Paul said.

“We recruited a new full-time chef in March and we offer food six days a week now and we want to do more to expand.

“In the next few months we want to make more changes to the club including installing new flooring in the main function suite and reupholstering some of the furniture.

“We want to bring this place up to date and make it a nice place for our customers.”
