A SEAFRONT bar is set to reopen following an extensive refurbishment.

Vinnie's on Burnham-on-Sea Esplanade has been closed for several months while its owner, Luke Vinnicombe, worked to refurbish the bar's interior.

The bar is set to reopen to the public today (July 5) and Luke said he hopes to put the venue back on the map.

He said: "Me and my wife, Leah, will be staying here for the summer to run Vinnie's and bring it back to a great seaside bar.

"We have made some changes to the interior and will be hosting DJ and karaoke nights throughout the summer.

"We will be opening every day throughout the summer but after September we will probably only open at weekends.

"I already own a Vinnie's in Weston-super-Mare which is very popular and I would like to get Vinnie's in Burnham back to how it was before, a busy seaside bar.

"We also have big TV's which we will play sport on, pool tables and darts and a wide selection of drinks at the bar."

At the relaunch on Friday there will be a free barbecue from 7pm to 9pm and a live performance from DJ Jonesz.

Luke said people in Burnham have been 'positive' about the changes to the bar and he is hopeful for the bar's future.

He said: "I am looking to be here for the long term and hopefully the community will come out and support us.

"I think when people in the community come back to Vinnie's they will realise what they have been missing and we can get the bar back on the map."
