AN APPEAL for witnesses has been launched after a 'disturbance' between a man and a woman in Highbridge.
Avon and Somerset Police said the incident happened on Stiling Close at around 4.15am on Saturday, June 16.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "A number of people are believed to have witnessed the incident and we’re keen to hear from anyone who we haven’t yet spoken to.
"If you can help, please call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5219133691."
Police have confirmed a 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and appeared at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 17 where he was remanded into custody.
He has been charged with assault, ill treatment, abandoning a child, causing unnecessary suffering or injury, criminal damage, robbery and theft from an automatic machine.
