DEVON County Association for The Blind, whose central office is at Station House, in Topsham, has appointed Martin Pallett as Director of Services.

This follows the recent acquisition of The Old Ticket Office, (the other half of Topsham station), as part of DCAB’s strategy to expand its voluntary visiting service to visually impaired people throughout Devon, and enhance the resource centre at Topsham.

Chair Gwyn Dickinson, who recently received an MBE for her work with the Macular Disease Society, said: “We are delighted that Martin is coming on board DCAB at this exciting time in the charity’s history, and bringing such a wealth of experience, and ideas, from within the charity sector for visually impaired people.

“Our aim at DCAB is to develop the fullest possible levels of services for visually impaired people in Devon”

Mr Pallett joins DCAB following an 18-year senior management career with the NHS, and the last eight years in the charitable sector as chief executive with Cornwall Blind Association.

Martin is also a member of the Visionary Chief Executives Group.

DCAB is an independent local charity established in 1925 supported by a network of volunteers, full time staff, and managed by a Board of Trustees.
