Schoolchildren from across Falmouth paraded through the streets of town this afternoon for the annual Grand Oyster Parade, as part of the Oyster Festival.

Youngsters from all of the town's primaries showed off their decorations, with each school choosing a different theme.

St Francis went for smiling green fish and jellyfish, St Mary's were the oysters and the boats, Marlborough had the drums and a big red boat, King Charles flew the flags and banners while Falmouth Primary had a cracking collection of brightly coloured masks.

Crowds gathered across town to catch a glimpse of the parade before it arrived at the National Maritime Museum for a ceremony of celebration.
