Roundheads and Cavaliers recreate a Civil War battle for the town's 350th birthday celebrations
Children from schools around Falmouth were kitted out in Civil War costume today, marching through the streets as part of a special re-enactment for the town's 350th birthday.
The pupils were split into two groups: the Cavaliers, who supported the king and the Roundheads, who supported parliament.
With a route that took them from either the Prince of Wales pier or the Moor, each group made their way to Event Square, at the far end of town - where battlelines were drawn before a mock skirmish took place.
The event marks the 350th anniversary of the signing of the town's charter by King Charles II, in thanks for the townspeople's support of his father, King Charles I, in the English Civil War.
