A sudden blizzard over Falmouth, Helston and Penryn caused chaos on the roads this morning.
The heavy snow came at rush hour as children were heading for schools closed yesterday.
Children arriving at Penryn College were confronted by a white out with the school reconsidering staying open. Many parents kept children at home Many people driving to work were caught out by the treacherous conditions and there were many minor accidents.
Truro is being reported as completely gridlocked and a lorry has jacknifed at Tresillian.
More snow is forcast for this morning but is expected to clear this afternoon.
