A Helston motorcyclist who filmed himself hurtling along the A30 at speeds of 170mph has walked free from court.
Police have released shocking footage of Frederick Bowden weaving through traffic before accelerating to the lethal speed, which Devon an Cornwall Police say was the fastest ever recorded on a Cornish road.
Bowden, aged 42, recorded the video of himself and fellow motorcyclist Andrew Prowse on Sunday, August 13, last year.
The filming ended with the tragic death of Mr Prowse after his motorbike hit a car.
At Truro Crown Court on Thursday Judge Christopher Elwen sentenced Bowden, who had already pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving, to 51 weeks in jail, suspended for two years.
