Police in Truro are appealing for information after a man smashed a bus door window, injuring a 52-year-old driver.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31, on Victoria Street.

The male driver received hospital treatment for an eye wound caused by glass from the smashed window.

Around £1,000 of damage was caused to the bus.

The bus driver involved told the Packet: "It started when a woman ran onto the bus yelling that she was being followed by this guy.

"I shut the doors, and as I started to drive away to remove her from the situation, he swung his rucksack at the front door.

"It imploded, and I ended up with a corneal abrasion from a small slither of glass in my right eye.

"It was extremely scary at the time, as I didn't know if he had a knife or other weapon on him."

Police would like to speak to the man pictured because he is believed to have vital information which could assist police enquiries.

Anyone who knows the identity of the man or has any other information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/000185/20.
