A LARGE hole approximately 40 feet wide has appeared in a quiet corner of a village near Camborne.
Residents in Pendarves Street, Beacon, have been shocked to see the hole continue to widen after a tree had originally fallen down in strong winds.
It has become wider and deeper for several days, revealing a mine shaft which has now been fenced off by Cormac.
The hole has developed across private land and a public right of way, behind four houses.
