A MAN has died following a crash in Mawnan Smith.
Police were called by the ambulance service with reports of a minor two-vehicle collision on Penwarne Road, Mawnan Smith, at around 7.10am this morning.
A spokesman from Devon & Cornwall Police said: "A 71-year-old man was found unconscious behind the wheel and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
Penwarne Road was closed at around 8am to assist with the scene.
There is heavy traffic in the area, following the incident between No Man's Land Road and Sampys Hill.
UPDATE at 10.30am: The road remains closed as recovery work and accident investigation work takes place.
The crash took place on the main road between Mawnan Smith and Argal, just past the turning for Penjerrick.
