THE occupant of a house was treated for smoke inhalation on Sunday lunchtime following a fire.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said that two crews from Falmouth Community Fire Station were sent to Tresillian Road in the town at 12.50pm.

On arrival they found a fire on the ground floor of a two-storey house.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose to put the fire out, which was achieved by 1.10pm.

An ambulance was requested to treat the occupant for smoke inhalation, the fire service spokesperson said.

No details on the cause of the incident have yet been released by the fire service.
