Almost 200 homes in the wider Falmouth area are without power
Almost 200 homes in the wider Falmouth area remain without power this evening.
Residents have been warned to be in the dark until late this evening, with estimates that electricity will not return until 11pm.
The largest area affected is Carnon Downs, where 192 properties have lost power.
Homes in 17 separate postcode areas have been hit, with energy company Western Power Distribution warning that power was likely to be out until 11pm.
The firm described it as a "high voltage incident", meaning it affected a wider area.
Also experiencing an evening without electricity are homes at Trevarbah, on the back roads between Constantine and Edgcumbe.
The problem is currently not expected to be resolved until 10pm.
