Present hunters can step into Christmas with the opening of a themed pop up shop in Helston this December.

Helston Fishermen's Mission has returned for a third year with its Christmas Pop Up - this time in an all-new location.

For 2019 the treasure trove of gifts, decorations and festive jumpers can be found in Coinage Ope, between Coinagehall Street and the Tyacke Road car park.

All the items donated are from last year's unwanted gift amnesty, run post Christmas by the charity that also has a permanent shop in Meneage Street - its only shop in the UK.

Shop manager Melinda King said: "There's no need to go anywhere else for decorations, jumpers and especially the gifts.

"We are still able to wrap gifts for the children too."

Youngsters can go into the shop while their parents wait outside and staff will help them choose a gift and wrap it for them, so that it remains a surprise for Christmas.

The shop is open from 11am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. It was opened shortly before Helston Christmas Lights Switch On, by deputy mayor Tim Grattan-Kane.

Money raised at the shop will go towards the charity's ongoing work supporting fishermen and their families.
