ONE person had to be rescued from a burning property in Porthleven last night.

Cornwall Fire & Rescue Services' Critical Control received a 999 emergency call to a property fire in which people were reported as still in the property.

A fire appliance from Helston and two appliances from Tolvaddon Community Fire Stations, supported with a Wholetime Officer were mobilised to the incident.

On arrival they found the property was smoked logged.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a safety jet rescued one casualty from the property.

The casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service following the incident, which took place around 8pm.
