A busy commuter road in Falmouth will close for eight nights later this month for resurfacing.

Bickland Water Road will close between 7pm and 6am from Wednesday, November 20 until Friday, November 29.

A spokesman for Cormac said: "The closure is to accommodate final road surfacing and white lining and is necessary to allow for the machinery and to safeguard both the workforce and general public.

"Access will of course be maintained for those residents living within the road closure and emergency vehicles."

It will be shut from Tregoniggie Industrial Park to Bosmeor Road.

Mongleath Road will also be closed between Bickland Water Road and Longfield.

The work is part of section 278 improvements funded by housing developer Taylor Wimpey as part of an agreement made over its Chy an Dowr development.

Contractor Cormac sent a letter to businesses in the area informing them of the closure this afternoon.

Access will be maintained for residents living within the closure and emergency vehicles.
