A man was repeatedly stabbed in his flat in Falmouth on Saturday.
He was at his home in Webber Street when another man entered the property at around 11.40pm and stabbed him several times in the arm before making off from the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
Police are appealing for information about the offender.
DC Gail Windsor said: "Whilst this is clearly a shocking incident, we believe it was isolated in its nature.
“The suspect has been described as a white man and was wearing a black bomber jacket with a white t-shirt on underneath. He had a black covering over his nose and mouth and was wearing a black peaked hat.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward via 101 quoting crime reference number CR/96899/19.”
