Part of a Helston shop is to be turned into a one-bedroom flat.
Planning permission has been given to make the changes to the back rooms of 12 Coinagehall Street, where Heathercraft is currently based.
The main shop area will kept as retail, but the change of use will allow the back storage area and office space to become accommodation.
A new staff toilet will be installed with the storeroom of the shop and a new passageway, with a door leading from the street, will be created to give access to the property.
The application has been made by Jane Sparrow of Pyghtle Properties Limited.
In it she argued that the proportion of shop area to storage space was out of balance and "commercially unviable" when it came to letting the shop.
Heathercraft is due to close down in a few weeks, after no buyer could be found for the business.
