Penryn residents are being asked to help protect one of the town's most prominent green spaces.

The town council has asked people to share their views about how best to protect College Valley.

This is ahead of formal consultations for the town's Neighbourhood Plan that will take place in January.

Landowners and users of College Valley are asked to contact the council with ideas about how to manage the area in a way that benefits them.

One area to be looked at is how to link the valley with other parts of town. A partnership will also be formed to manage the area, and the council wants to hear from residents about how best to go about this.

Ideas for better cycling and walking routes are welcomed, and residents are invited to send in suggestions about how to manage student accommodation development in the area.

The council has been working with a group of volunteers to draw up a neighbourhood plan over the last few years.

Its purpose is to give residents more of a say in how future developments shape the town.

When the process first started, one of the main issues raised by residents was that of protecting College Valley.

Any residents with ideas about how to protect and improve the area should contact the town council via email: info@penryntowncouncil.co.uk, or in person with the council's admin team at Penryn Library.
