Former classmates who attended school together in Falmouth more than half a century ago have reunited for an evening of reminiscing.

Following a successful get-together in 2014, the class of 1965 from Falmouth Grammar School and Falmouth High School met again, this time joined by pupils one year older and younger than the group.

They came from far and wide, with more than 75 people gathering at Falmouth Rugby Club, including five ex-teachers from the 1960s.

Earlier in the day several met to tour the old school sites. The memories quickly returned and helped set the scene for the main event in the evening.

The venue displayed enlarged school photos of pupils, together with a slideshow of school and related events from 1965-72, and school memorabilia.

Name badges ensured that everyone was instantly recognisable after nearly 50 years.

Mike Morris, a teacher from the Grammar School era, gave his recollections to add to the special occasion.

A pasty buffet followed, giving everyone the chance to share their memories and enjoy the opportunity to catch up again.

Music of the 1960s and 70s was played, but eventually had to be turned off so that people could concentrate on the chatting.

With so many saying there should be another reunion again soon, organisers are hoping to track down a few more missing classmates before then.
