Winners of a competition will be able to name seats after community figures in Hall for Cornwall's revamped auditorium.

The This Seat Counts campaign launches next month, inviting people to nominate someone special in their community to have their name immortalised on one of six seats when the new performance space opens in Autumn 2020.

Nominations can be for individuals, groups or businesses and each winner will receive a dedicated seat plaque with an engraved personalised message.

Julien Boast, Hall for Cornwall's chief executive and creative director, said: "Naming a seat is a very personal way to make history and support our future by ensuring that you or your loved one will be a visible part of our beautiful new theatre for years to come.

"Performance is powerful stuff. It opens eyes, raises smiles, boosts esteem and wins hearts and we want to hear your personal stories of those individuals or organisations who have done just this and whose creative spirit we should be celebrating and championing in our new home."

Send in details of who you would like to nominate, explaining why you are recommending them, to thisseatcounts@hallforcornwall.org.uk or enter online here: surveymonkey.co.uk/r/thisseatcounts.

The nominations will be considered by a panel of judges including chief executive and creative director, Julien Boast, esteemed theatre entrepreneur and co-chair of Hall for Cornwall trustees Dame Rosemary Squire, BBC Radio Cornwall host and former Hall For Cornwall Box Office Manager Debbie McCrory and Cornwall Council Leader Julian German.

All nominations need to be submitted by Friday November 1 by 5pm.
