A Falmouth veterinary practice has been given permission to build a new animal hospital.

Land in Tregoniggie Industrial Estate can now be built on as Rosemullion Veterinary Practice looks to expand.

In its planning application submitted in June, it was said that the practice had "significantly outgrown their existing facility".

On Tuesday, Cornwall Council's central area planning subcommittee decided that the application should be given approval.

A design and access statement prepared by Jefferson Sheard Architects as part of Rosemullion's application said that the new facility will create an extra ten jobs in the area – six immediately with a further four to follow.

Falmouth Town Council supported the application when it was discussed in July.

Town councillors had mixed feelings towards the plan with four voting in favour and three against.
