RELATIVES of two former railway station staff in Falmouth have met for the first time.
Leonard Grose and Robert Lamport were station staff at Penmere in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Now Leonard's daughter Valerie Harris and Robert's granddaughter Zara Radford have met, sixty years on.
Brought together by the Friends of Penmere volunteer group, Zara and Valerie enjoyed a chat and reminisce about times past, and swapped stories about their relations.
The two well respected railwaymen who manned the station have been remembered by the station group, in the placement of two plaques on the car park rosebed.
The Friends, who have been custodians of the station for 26 years, also recently gained an "Outstanding" in the "It's Your Neighbourhood" category at the RHS South West in Bloom Awards at Newquay.
