A driver was flung from his car last night when he was involved in a crash while not wearing a seat belt.
The man was thrown through the open window of his Corsa by the impact of the collision at Tuckingmill.
The important safety message has been raised by police following the incident in the Camborne and Redruth area yesterday evening.
It was discovered by Devon and Cornwall Police’s No Excuse team at the end of a busy evening shift in which they seized several vehicles for being used without insurance, as well as one being driven by a disqualified driver and another by an unsupervised provisional licence holder.
On route to assist @CambornePolice with an immediate job last night and came across this car which had just crashed. Driver ejected as they were not wearing a seatbelt now in hospital with what would appear to be a lucky escape injury wise. Bloods taken for investigation pic.twitter.com/h9eqiGA5zM

The team targets potential offenders of the ‘fatal five’ driving offences - inappropriate or excessive speed, not wearing a seat belt, distractions such as mobile phones, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and careless/inconsiderate driving.
A spokesperson for the team said: “At the end of the shift we were backing up Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police at an incident when we came around the corner to find the red Corsa having just crashed on East Hill.
“The driver was ejected out of an open window landing on the other side of the road.
“First aid was administered until paramedics arrived. The male was taken to hospital where impairment procedures were commenced by officers and a sample of blood obtained for analysis.
“Luckily it appears that the male only sustained minor injuries.”
