Food demonstrations and free tasters will be on offer when the Slimming World anniversary tour bus reaches Cornwall this week.

The golden double decker will be stopped on Truro’s Lemon Quay this Wednesday from 10am to 5pm, to mark 50 years of Slimming World.

As part of the event, guests can watch live cookery demonstrations and sample some of Slimming World’s recipes, with on-board chefs cooking them from scratch.

Anyone who stops by can also pick up a goody bag and a selection of recipe cards to try out dishes for themselves at home.

Also onboard the bus will be some of the local slimmers who have lost weight and transformed their lives.

It is being brought to Cornwall by district manager Margaret Roberts.

Team developer Jo Wignell, who also runs groups in Helston and Cury, said: “It will be great to get out into the community and show the people of Truro what Slimming World is all about.

“I absolutely love what I do and it’s amazing to welcome people into my group and see them transform their whole lives before my very eyes.

“I hope our golden visit will encourage even more people to change their lives for the better too.”

The bus has been touring around the UK and Ireland, visiting 59 areas between July and September.
