Coastguards en-route to Maenporth Beach yesterday where three people had been cut off by the tide were stood down when the casualties waded back to shore.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to the incident after the call came in at 5.38pm yesterday (Tuesday September 3).
Team members nearby spoke to the first informant on scene and reassured them that it was exactly the right call to make.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "In an emergency at the coast, dial 999 and ask for Coastguard."
