Two full days of celebrations are taking place at the weekend for this year's Helston Harvest Fair.

They begin at 12.30pm on Saturday when entries will be taken for the Family Fun Dog Show.

This will take place outside the Old Cattle Market, with judging from 1pm, and will be cancelled if the weather is wet.

Entry is £1, with categories including golden oldie, cutest puppy, junior handler, waggiest tail and dog most like its owner. Other fun classes include 'best legs combo', fancy dress and 'My dog's got talent'.

On Saturday evening Helston Carnival will start and finish in the car park at Tesco.

Judging will take place at 4.45pm, with classes for large float, small float, decorated bike/buggy/wheelchair, vintage vehicle, group walkers, adult walker and child walker.

Entrants then leave at 6pm to begin a route around the town, heading down Trengrouse Way to Meneage Street, down Coinagehall Street, back up again into Wendron Street and Godolphin Road, then along Clodgey Lane back to Tesco.

The event has once again been sponsored by Flambards.

Helston Horticultural and Craft Show then opens to the public at 1.30pm on Sunday, at the Old Cattle Market, which will be filled with fruit and vegetables, flower arrangements, photography, cookery and crafts, plus children's entries.

Prize giving will take place at 4pm.
