St Michael's Mount has been named as the south west’s best Window with a View by an expert panel of judges, coming out on top against a range of stunning views across the region.

The sea view in Cornwall went up against the attractions with the most spectacular views including hotels, restaurants, bars and museums in the fourth annual Window with a View competition, launched earlier this year by MyGlazing.com, the independent free consumer advice site.

St Michael's Mount will now go into the national final where it will compete with the best views from 10 other regions across the country in a public vote to decide the UK’s best Window with a View.

The 10 other regional winners:

* Dolbadarn Castle – Wales

* Cambridge University – East of England

* BT Tower – London

* Lookout Tower at Lindisfarne Priory – North East

* Hereford Museum and Art Gallery – Midlands

* Titanic Hotel Belfast – Northern Ireland

* Caol Ila Distillery, Island of Islay – Scotland

* Arundel Cathedral – South East

* Dubs Hut, Lake District – North West

* Wharram Percy – Yorkshire

This year’s national vote will take place online here and via @myglazing on Twitter and Instagram, with voting opening on Thursday and closing on Friday, August 30. The overall winner of this year’s award will be announced in September, taking the crown from 2018’s best Window with a View, The Hopetoun Arms in Scotland.

James Lee, director of marketing at MyGlazing.com, said: “The standard this year has been the best yet, with some outstanding examples of architecture and natural beauty submitted. It’s therefore fitting recognition to the quality of the view from St Michaels Mount that it has been voted as the best in the South West.

“St Michael's Mount has done brilliantly to win the regional heat and we wish it the best of luck in the public vote to decide the overall winner. The 11 regional winning entries are all stunning views so it will be interesting to see which image is crowned the UK’s best Window with a View.”

The judging panel was made up of experts from the property, photography, glass and glazing and marketing industries, who took the window, view and overall photograph into consideration for the scoring process.

This year an online vote will count for one third of the final score, with a social media vote and judges’ scores making up the other two thirds. You can show your support for your favourite online here or head to @myglazing to vote via Instagram and Twitter. Each person that votes will also be entered into a random prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher.
