FALMOUTH Week kicks off today (Friday) and there's plenty going on between now and Sunday, August 18.

Pink Wig Ladies Night
• Parade leaves The Moor at 6.30pm
• Biggest Pink Wig Night ever, 1200 tickets sold
• Main event SOLD OUT, no tickets available on the door
• Anyone and everyone is welcome to watch the parade, led by Falmouth Marine Band and Betty Stogs
Saturday 10th August
Comic and Movie Fest
• Lower Stannary at Falmouth University, Tremough Campus. NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE
• 10am – 3pm
• Entry is free but visitors are encouraged to donate what they feel the event is worth
• Organised by and in aid of True Butterflies Foundation, a charity that supports victims of domestic abuse and their families
• Featuring photo opportunities, competitions, exhibitions, stalls, games and special guests including Star Wars Characters and an enormous velociraptor!
• Meet a jedi or have your photo taken with a superhero!

Falmouth Marching Carnival
• Family friendly activities at Falmouth Rugby Club from 11am

• Dragon Boating is a fun filled, adrenaline pumping water sports activity.
• Teams compete in dragon boats which are large canoe-like vessels fitted with ornately carved dragon’s heads and tails.
• Crews of up to 16 people sit in pairs and paddle to compete in multiple timed races over distances of around 250m.
• Each boat has a drummer beating time to keep the paddlers in unison and a professional helms-person in the stern to guide the boat.
