REPORTS of a missing person sparked a search by several coastguard teams and police in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Falmouth all-weather lifeboat, together with coastguards from Mevagissey and St Austell, assisted police in their search of the Roseland Peninsula, between East Portholland and Greeb Point.
The person had last been seen at Porthluney Cove, near Caerhays Castle.
Falmouth lifeboat was launched at 12.40am and once on scene off East Portholland at 1.18am, its inflatable Y-Boat was despatched and a search of the shoreline began.
At 1.43am it was confirmed that the casualty had been located ashore safe and well, so the Y-Boat was recovered and at 1.54am the lifeboat headed back to Falmouth.
