A yacht stranded out to sea was reliant on the mercy of lifeboat volunteers yesterday evening.
The Lizard lifeboat Rose launched at 5.45pm to help the two sailors onboard, who found themselves six nautical miles south-south west of Lizard Point unable to move.
With no sail and no fuel the eight-metre yacht was left drifting.
Once arrived at the yacht, the lifeboat crew attached a rope and towed it to the safety of Falmouth.
Rose then continued back to her station at Kilcobben Cove, arriving back on the slipway at 10.22pm.
