Police have released details about a missing man who was found on the Roseland after an overnight search.

Police, Falmouth all-weather lifeboat and coastguard rescue teams from Mevagissey and Portscatho started the search at around 3am on Sunday morning.

The man in his 30s, from Truro, was found at around 6am. He was then taken to Treliske hospital.

Coastguard teams split into two groups, searching Carne Beach and up the coastal path to Nare Head point whilst the police helicopter circled overhead using a thermal camera.

Falmouth RNLI searched the water and shoreline.

The missing person was eventually found by police near Veryan, near to his last known position.

A spokesperson posting on the Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Team Facebook page said it was a "good result and great team work across all agencies".

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "It was a report of a missing man in his 30s from Truro. He was located safely and taken to Treliske hospital."
