Volunteers from Falmouth Marine Conservation (FMC) spent an afternoon at Gyllyngvase Beach on Thursday introducing local youngsters to the delights of rockpool rambling.
FMC's rockpool rambler-in-chief Becky Thomas led a team taking children on a guided tour of the rockpools west of the beach.
Taking advantage of the low tide, the youngsters were able to enjoy expert advice and use identification charts to help them discover a variety of creatures.
The finds ranged from beadle and strawberry anemones to shore and edible crabs, from flat periwinkles and topshells to small blennies, honeycomb worms and sea lettuce.
Becky said: "It was great to see the children getting involved and excited, and to see such enthusiasm for the sealife that lives alongside us."
If anyone would like to get involved and make friends with the local marine life, a Snorkel Safari is available for those who are happy to get in the water, taking place on Wednesday July 17 from 1pm to 4pm at Gyllyngvase Beach.
Or if you prefer to stay dry, another Rockpool Ramble is planned for Thursday July 25 at Gyllyngvase Beach starting at 4pm.
Tickets cost £3, to book visit facebook.com/events/2241077809281523/.
