An emotional tribute has been made by the daughter of a serving police officer who was found dead in Perranporth last week.

Police were called to a property in St George’s Hill at around 9.50am on Wednesday 3 July by the ambulance service.

A unit attended and 51-year-old Rebecca Golding was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Rebecca joined the Force in 1989 and was most recently working as a custody sergeant based in Newquay.

Her daughter Eloise paid the following tribute: “What can we say? We never expected to have to do this. She was mother, sister, and aunt; all this and so much more. Poet, equestrian and animal lover.

“She struggled, fought and won on many occasions, but she was always Bekkie.

“We joked with her, we teased her, laughed at her (a lot) but we will never forget her. She is loved, missed and will never be forgotten - ever.”

The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
